Define the purchase duty
A gold-processing description is not enough to select an emulsion. The purchasing brief should identify the exact tailings stream and approved treatment boundary, including its water and reagent history, before a supplier proposes grades or a bulk consumption estimate.
Identify the sample, actual feed and required water-and-solids result before asking for a recurring supply commitment.
Define the stream and responsibilities
State where the sample is collected, its solids and size context, operating chemistry and destination. Identify the responsible plant team for sampling, process compatibility and any hazardous-material controls. The tailings record organizes the separation information.
A polymer recommendation is not authorization to alter leaching, detoxification or another controlled process. Keep those responsibilities outside a generic flocculant performance claim.
Use actual process conditions
Prepare candidates using agreed water and supplier instructions, then compare them against representative slurry at equal active-basis steps. Retain the incumbent reference and record sample handling and test timing.
Do not remove known reagent or water effects from the test without explaining the change. A clean-water comparison may be useful as a diagnostic control but is not the accepted production feed.
Set the complete acceptance route
Measure overflow, compaction, underflow transport and any filtration requirement the plant specifies. Transfer the leading set through the feedwell trial method with calibrated flows and stable observation windows.
Include process-team approval for any relevant reuse or downstream effect. An acceptable settling sample alone does not establish compatibility with all parts of the gold-processing circuit.
Test the limiting condition
A sample drawn before a material reagent or recycle-water change may no longer represent the delivery-period duty. Retain that timing limitation and repeat the relevant comparison before promising fixed consumption across unlike operating states.
Preserve any untested condition in the acceptance record. A promising sample response is not an unrestricted capacity or treatment guarantee.
